Robert Hertan, a Retired Transit Police Chief, has a significant background in Transit Security and Emergency Preparedness at the local and national level. He has over 30 years of program management/leadership in Security/Law Enforcement; Aviation Safety; Transit and Aviation Emergency Management and Preparedness; Training and Education. He is a retired, highly decorated Naval Aviator/Aerospace Physiologist and disabled combat veteran. He is currently a member of the American Public Transportation Association’s Critical Infrastructure Protection Working Group. Chief Hertan has been an Aviation Safety Program Instructor at the Naval Postgraduate School and currently is an Adjunct Faculty member for Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University.
