Tanya DeGenova , Subject Matter Expert/Master Trainer

Tanya DeGenova joins TSSI as a Subject Matter Expert/Master Trainer. Ms. DeGenova is a retired FBI agent with over twenty-years of investigative and managerial experience, having served as a Supervisory Special Agent at FBI Headquarters in Washington, DC from 1992 to 1996, and in Boston from 1996 to 1999. She was appointed as a Special Agent in 1979.
Since retiring from the FBI in 1999, Tanya has also consulted to several components of the US Department of Defense, both in the US and in Germany with personnel security investigations and training, and held contracts with a number of US Federal Government agencies, which include USAID, GAO and the Department of Homeland Security.
In September 2006, Tanya earned a CPP through the American Society of Industrial Security (ASIS) and since, has provided security consulting services to a number of corporations, to the Commonwealth of Massachusetts Crime Lab and Medical Examiner’s Office as a team member. Tanya regularly provides security consulting to local newspapers, radio and televisions outlets in the Boston area.
Tanya has been a member of the Council of International Investigators (CII) since 2006 and a member of Intellenet since 2008. She served on the Board of Directors of the Licensed Private Detective Association of Massachusetts in 2001 and 2002. Tanya is an active member of the Society of Former FBI Agents and ASIS.
Tanya’s civic engagement includes serving on the Board of Directors at the Northshore Toastmasters Club since 2009 and as Program Chairman and Chairman of the Public Relations Committee Chairman at the Marblehead Rotary Club (2009-2010) and Chairman of the Public Relations Committee (2010-2011). From 2003-2005, while working in Germany for the US DOD, Tanya served as a American Red Cross Volunteer at the Landstuhl US Army Medical Center.
Tanya holds an M.A. degree in International Relations from Georgetown University, and an A. B. degree in French Literature and Education from Syracuse University. She is fluent in English, French, German, and Russian.
